(1) Tradition: All the traditions are passed on to the next generation through oral tradition. Written records were not available to preserve their tradition. So folklores and folktales are passed on through oral tradition. Elderly people tell stories to their children.
(2) TYPES: With the spread of education, most of the traditions and cultures of the Thadou society are being written by the outsiders and by the educated locals. So one can now find written record of the cultures and traditions of the Thadou-Kuki in big and small volumes.
(3) Hymns: When it comes to Hymns, one can find Christian Hymn books which are used in churches. But most of the Ritual songs, festival songs, and folk songs are still unwritten. The older folks know these songs, while the new generation are still unaware of them. But the educated class has felt the need to preserve them and many people are working on these aspects among the educated people.
(4) Travelogues: There are no written travelogues in this language. The reason may be that travellers have not visited the attractive sites, or it may be because the people have not felt the need to have them.
(1) History: The history of the Thadou-Kuki is now in written form. People know them through books written about them. Many researchers both from outside and inside the community have written books on history, cultures, language, revolt and nationalism.
