IV. SCRIPT AND SPELLING

Nyishi, which is the largest linguistic group in Arunachal Pradesh, has not yet reduced to writing. Non- governmental organizations like Nyishi Elite Society and certain individual have made efforts to devise a script system for Nyishi. But none of them were able to reach a consensus on an acceptable script. However, the materials produced by the Directorate of Research, Government of Arunachal Pradesh are in Roman script. The educated speakers of Nyishi write Nyishi in Roman Script banking upon their own ingenuity.
